Join us in hosting David Wellstone and Carol McDaid, both of whom worked on creating and establishment of the Mental Health Parity and Addiction Act. Together we will learn about what it took to get that supported, passed, and implemented. Then we will also hear from them on how we should be advocating for the next phase of this vital topic, especially what State and Federal leaders need to know and how we as a community can be the change that is necessary for growth.  Date May 5, 2022 5:00 to 6:30 pm Central and will be live on Facebook and Microsoft Teams Platforms.

John Kuker Music Series

Join Begin Anew as we launch the John Kuker music series, a gathering of music and speakers focused on the education of substance use disorder and the healing power of music.

The series will launch in February 4th 2022 (update, due to  Omicron peak in Minnesota slated for End of January beginning February, we are moving this to warmer outside weather) with an evening performance by Minnesota Blues Hall of Fame Musician and person in recovery, Scottie Miller.  Each quarter will feature different musicians as part of this wellness and education series.

Begin Anew's signature musical event will occur in summer 2022 at Pachyderm Studios. John Kuker, the renovator/owner of the legendary Pachyderm studios, was a Minnesota-made musical guru who rebuilt the studio complex to its storied history. Begin Anew is honored to bring John's passion and love of music to our community through this unique series.

30 Days Foundation for Sober Housing with Begin Anew

Join Begin Anew as we partner with the 30 Days Foundation to enhance their project of assisting people get sober housing. The funds raised on that day will be specifically used to assist people in addiction treatment get into sober house's after their treatment with a donation from The 30-Days Foundation per request of $100-$150. These funds would be the final $100-$150 per request needed for someone to get into a sober house to continue treatment and to promote their own healing.

We are simply asking everyone interested within the 24-hour timeframe to click on this link: to commit $10 a month as a recurring donation within 24-hours on Sunday, Oct. 10th.

Example: If 200 people decide to commit to $10 per month, The 30-Days Foundation will set aside $2,000 per month to be used to help people get into sober houses.

The 30-Days Foundation would communicate with each sober house landlord that reaches us, along with BEGIN ANEW and their network of professionals who can provide even more assistance.

I am hoping that this information could help someone you may know now in crisis.  Or perhaps you have friends or loved ones who went through this difficult time, so you are aware of the need.

In 2021, we will surpass over 250 people we have helped get into sober houses.  The funds raised on Sunday, Oct. 10th through 10 AGAIN can provide a steady financial stream of funds to help hundreds more have a chance to heal and change their lives.

I am hoping you can spread the word about this to your associates and friends to consider this effort on Sunday, Oct. 10th by committing a $10 per month donation
