Events

Join us in hosting David Wellstone and Carol McDaid, both of whom worked on creating and establishment of the Mental Health Parity and Addiction Act. Together we will learn about what it took to get that supported, passed, and implemented. Then we will also hear from them on how we should be advocating for the next phase of this vital topic, especially what State and Federal leaders need to know and how we as a community can be the change that is necessary for growth.  Date May 5, 2022 5:00 to 6:30 pm Central and will be live on Facebook and Microsoft Teams Platforms.

To register for this event please contact beginanew@beginanewrecovery.org  or call us at 763-252-6570

John Kuker Music Series

Join Begin Anew as we launch the John Kuker music series, a gathering of music and speakers focused on the education of substance use disorder and the healing power of music.

The series will launch in February 4th 2022 (update, due to  Omicron peak in Minnesota slated for End of January beginning February, we are moving this to warmer outside weather) with an evening performance by Minnesota Blues Hall of Fame Musician and person in recovery, Scottie Miller.  Each quarter will feature different musicians as part of this wellness and education series.

Begin Anew's signature musical event will occur in summer 2022 at Pachyderm Studios. John Kuker, the renovator/owner of the legendary Pachyderm studios, was a Minnesota-made musical guru who rebuilt the studio complex to its storied history. Begin Anew is honored to bring John's passion and love of music to our community through this unique series.
